Application

Gold coated microscope slide can be used as a substrate material that facilitates the formation of highly active surfaces for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) measurements.[1][2]
Titanium adhesion layer used to bind the gold to an aluminasilicate glass microscope slide. Titanium thickness ~20 angstroms.

Features and Benefits

The gold surface shows a tendency towards <111> orientation.

Questions

  1. Hi, I would like to know if this substrare can hold up against an ultrasonic cleaner (sumerged in acetone or IPA). With some silicon wafers coated with gold we are having some issues because the gold peels off the wafer during the ultrasonic bath.

    1 answer
    1. This product doesn't have a specific adhesion test documented for use in an ultrasonic cleaner submerged in acetone or isopropyl alcohol (IPA). The robustness of the gold layer on silicon wafers can vary based on several factors, including the power of the ultrasonic cleaner and the duration of the cleaning process. A quick test is recommended before further use. If issues persist, alternative cleaning methods that are less aggressive are suggested, such as manual cleaning or using a gentle rinse with solvents.
