Nafion™ membranes are fluorinated polymers functionalized with sulphonic acid moieties.
Application
Nafion™ is a perfluorinated ion-exchange membrane which has a wide variety of commercial uses. The acidic (hydrogen ion) form and derivatives are solid, superacid catalysts useful in a wide variety of synthetic applications.
Nafion™ membrane may be used in the fabrication of electrodes by dry plasma.[1]
Packaging
Darkening/browning is common for pieces stored in a general room environment for an extended period of time (several months), due to organics pick-up. Verify product is kept sealed during storage. · Keep pieces sealed and protected from general exposure will reduce the effect. Recommend long term storage in air-tight bags. · Discoloration does not affect performance and can be removed by soaking in dilute nitric acid.
Packaged in a heat-sealed foil bag in stay-flat mailers
Other Notes
Surface that is shiny and smooth must be installed facing the cathode; otherwise the membrane may be irreversibly damaged upon use.

A novel flexible encapsulation method (Flex Lami-capsulation) is reported, which can be applied in the roll-to-roll process for mass production of organic electronic devices. Flex Lami-capsulation is very simple, fast, and getter-free, and is as effective as glass encapsulation. Use
Advances in electrochemical water conversion and understanding PEMFC degradation drive progress in hydrogen technologies.
