General description

Nickel(II) bromide, an inorganic compound that readily dissolves in water, finds application in the manufacturing of batteries, especially as an electrode material or an electrolyte additive. It is also utilized as a catalyst or catalyst precursor in various chemical reactions, particularly in organic synthesis and industrial processes.

Application

Nickel(II) bromide can be:
  • Used as a cathode material for sodium-metal halide batteries.
  • Used in effective passivation strategy to enhance the optical properties, efficiency, and stability of blue-emitting CsPbBr3 perovskite nanoplatelets for high-performance monochrome LED applications.
  • Used as a nickel precursor in cross-electrophile coupling reactions.
  • Used as a precursor for the synthesis of other nickel compounds.
