Application

LUDOX® TMA colloidal silica along with n-amylamine has been used as surface active particles to stabilize foams from drainage, coarsening and coalescence.
Other applications include:
  • Preparation of porous Bragg mirror and using it for flexible and biocompatible optical interference filters by infiltration of polydimethylsiloxane.
  • It acts as a filler and surfactant while preparing latexes by miniemulsion polymerization.
  • As a stabilizer for water-in-cyclohexane miniemulsions to form stable polyurethane shells via interfacial polyaddition.
  • Synthesis of organic-inorganic nanocomposite films from polyurethane dispersions and colloidal silica particles.
