General description

Carbostyril 124 (CS124) is a chromophore that can be used as a laser dye for sensitization and optical detection.[1][2] It acts as an antenna molecule that facilitates the light absorption and enhances fluorescence efficiency.[1][2][3]

Application

CS124 can be used in the synthesis of luminescent terbium chelates (LTCs) to develop fluoroimmunoassay for the detection of carcinoembryonic antigen.[4] It can also be used in the development of borane lasers.[5]
