The Velax® cutting clamp ensures a quick and clean cut: 

  • No cross-contamination risk from scissors
  • No scissor handling and sanitization
  • Reduced safety risks for the operator

How to use the Velax® cutting clamp

Media transfer step and pressure equilibration of sterility test

After the media transfer step and pressure equilibration (clamps and pump head open) of your sterility test:

  • Close the white and red clamps (on the canisters’ side)
  • Remove the tubing from the pump head
    Slide the blue Velax® cutting clamp to an area free of droplets where tubes are still joined

    Slide the blue Velax® cutting clamp to an area free of droplets where tubes are still joined (approx. 3 cm from clamps).

    Firmly press the Velax® cutting clamp as shown on the top 2 photos:

    • Both tubing lines are cut simultaneously
    • Velax® cutting clamp remains on the separated part of the tubing
      Fold the canister tubing over and insert the ends onto the vents of the canisters.

      Fold the canister tubing over and insert the ends onto the vents of the canisters. Discard the Velax® cutting clamp with tubing remains and needles.
