General description
4-Styrenesulfonic acid sodium salt hydrate is a water soluble vinyl monomer. It can be polymerized to form copolymers/homopolymers with other vinyl monomers.
Application
4-Styrenesulfonic acid sodium salt hydrate (NaSS) modified membranes have been coated on proteins for lysozyme fractionation. NaSS can also be used in combination with potassium methacrylate to create ionic charges on the surface of the nanosilica for the fabrication of organic-inorganic hybrid nanoparticles. Silica nanoparticles can be grafted by radical polymerizing NaSS with 3-sulfopropylmethacrylate, which can be used in the preparation of proton-conducting membranes based nanoparticles (PBNPs) as components for fuel cells.
4-Styrenesulfonic acid sodium salt hydrate( NaSS, SSAS) was grafted on poly(ethersulfone) (PES) membrane to determine the fractionation of proteins with similar molecular weights and close pI values. NaSS based ion exchange membranes for membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) have been synthesized. Copolymerization characteristics of sodium styrenesulfonate has been studied.c
