General description
Breathe-Easy® membrane is permeable to oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor, creating separate, highly uniform microculture vessels from a multi-well plate.
The membrane comes as a sandwich. The bottom paper liner protects the adhesive layer, and the top carrier sheet protects the outer surface of the highly compliant membrane until it has been placed and adhered to the plate. The liners also assure sterility of each individual membrane. The adhesive seals every well (unlike molded plastic covers), permitting agitation without cross-contamination or microbial infiltration. Compatible with most caustics and organic solvents, stable from −80 to +100 °C.
Note: Use of the Brayer (Z380067 sold separately) is recommended to assure uniform adhesion and to facilitate removal of the top paper liner.

Features and Benefits
Breathe-Easy® memebrane:
- Sterile & Non-Cytotoxic: Sterilized by gamma irradiation (free of cytotoxins)
- Prevent Contamination: Films eliminate well-to-well contamination, microbial and viral contamination, evaporation (excluding breathable membranes) and sample spillage
- Ideally Sized and Designed: 6" x 3.25" rectangles fit all microplates. Two scored end-tabs make film positioning and removal hassle-free
- Thermal Stability: Designed to withstand a wide temperature range
- Easy Specimen Retrieval: Pierceable sealing films facilitate easy removal of samples with a pipet tip
