General description
Glyght is a benzodiazepine-containing azobenzene compound that acts as a light-controlled negative allosteric modulator that is selective to glycine receptors. It is a powerful and effective compound that can operate in vivo. Glyght attaches to an allosteric site within the interface between the extracellular and transmembrane domains. It is an effective tool for researchers since it has broad activity in both homo- and heteromeric GlyRs across several species of fish and mammals. Moreover, Glyght is photo-switchable at 365 nm for trans-cis isomerization and 455 to 530 nm for cis-trans isomerization.
