Application

  • Solvent-assisted microextraction: 1-Methylnaphthalene was used in the development of sponge-like porous manganese(II, III) oxide coatings for solvent-assisted solid-phase microextraction, demonstrating its utility in environmental monitoring and analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (Saraji and Nobakht, 2022).
  • Catalytic applications: As a tar-type compound, 1-Methylnaphthalene was investigated for its degradation under mild conditions using TiO2-supported Pd catalysts, emphasizing its importance in industrial applications for cleaner production technologies (Raad et al., 2021).
  • Advanced oxidation processes: Research involving nano-MoO2 and peroxymonosulfate demonstrated the effective degradation of PAH derivatives, including 1-Methylnaphthalene, underscoring its relevance in water treatment technologies and pollution control (Chen et al., 2021).
