General description
Phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase (PI3K) is a heterodimeric lipid kinase containing regulatory and catalytic subunits. It catalyzes the phosphorylation at the 3-position hydroxyl group of the inositol ring of phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns). PI3K is implicated in various cellular functions such as cell growth, proliferation, motility, differentiation, survival, apoptosis, cytoskeletal rearrangement, and intracellular trafficking. It also plays a vital role in glucose uptake triggered by insulin.
Application
PI 3-Kinase HTRF® Assay; 10,000 wells has been used for measuring the enzymatic activity of the class I phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase isoforms by a time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer (TR-FRET) assay.
