General description
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar + LTHTh - ICR in 90 mm settle plate is a selective media for the determination of the total count of yeasts and molds in air via active or passive air monitoring as well for fingerprints of personnel. Sabouraud Dextrose Medium contains digests of animal tissues (peptones) which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is added as the energy and carbon source. The low pH favors fungal growth and an antibacterial agent in the media inhibits the growth of bacterial flora. Neutralizers such as lecithin, polysorbate (Tween®) 80, histidine and sodium thiosulfate inactivate residues of disinfectants. In addition, ICRplus plates (plus or “+”) are supplied with a lockable lid for a safe transport after sampling without the risk of losing the lid. ICR plus plates are suitable for anaerobic or microaerophilic incubation of the plates, by turning the lid into the vent position
Application
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a selective medium for cultivation and isolation of yeasts and molds. The media finds its application in environmental monitoring by determining the yeast and mold count in air through active or passive air monitoring as well as fingerprints of personnel.
