Description

General description

Hydrogen peroxide is a reactive oxygen species formed as a reaction product of various aerobic metabolic processes.[1] Its ultra-trace quantification in the concentration range of 10^-11mole/ml by a fluorometric method has been described.[2]

Application

Hydrogen peroxide solution (dilute alcoholic or aqueous solutions) may be used for the epoxidation of lower olefins in the presence of titanium silicalite (catalyst).[3] It may be used in the synthesis of acenaphthene[4] and peroxyacetic acid.[5]
