Description générale

The mechanism of formation of protective scales of α-Al2O3 on surfaces of binary M-Al (M = Fe, Ni or Co) alloys at high temperatures has been studied.[1] Activated aluminum oxides having different acidities and water concentrations (having Brockmann activity I-V) can easily detect various types of water (namely free water, pore water, and bound water) on the aluminum oxide present in soils.[2]

Application

Aluminum oxide (Alumina, Al2O3) has been used in the preparation of one-step self-assembled double-helices of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) arrays (composed of Fe nanoparticles bound to SiOx micro-particles).[3]
Aluminum oxide (neutral) has been used in the preparation of alumina supported silver (Ag/Al2O3) catalyst suitable for selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by hydrocarbons (HC-SCR).[4]

Conditionnement

Brockmann aluminum oxides are suitable for column chromatography and adsorptive filtration.

  1. Hi, could you please tell me the particle size of this products? We bought it before, the important information of the product we bought listed as below: 199974-1kg, Lot#BCBN5599V, Aluminum oxide (CAS: 1344-28-1), activated, neutral, Brockmann I

    1. The particle size of this material is not tested on a lot to lot basis. However, historical data indicates that the bulk of this material will have a particle size range of 40 - 300 um with 95% ranging from 40 - 160 um.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.
