Description générale

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), also called somatomedin C, is a protein hormone that plays an important role in childhood growth and continues to have anabolic effects in adults. Measuring IGF-1 levels is used to test for growth hormone deficiency and excess in acromegaly and gigantism. This certified Snap-N-Spike® solution of the fully-intact IGF-1 protein is suitable for use as starting material for calibrators and controls in IGF-1 LC/MS testing applications.
The quantitative analysis of IGF-I has played a crucial role in diagnosing and treating human growth disorders ever since its serum measurement became widely accessible. IGF-1 serves as a biomarker for growth hormone (GH) activity. This product is a certified reference material containing a human insulin solution. The insulin contained in this product is derived from recombinant sources of human origin. It is prepared in line with the ISO guidelines and satisfies the criteria for both certified reference material and primary standard categories. It is traceable to higher-order standards through an unbroken chain of comparisons. Furthermore, it is created from a pure substance in an aqueous solvent solution, which constitutes a primary standard.

Application

IGF-1 solution is suitable for the in vitro identification, calibration, and quantification of the analyte(s) in analytical and R&D applications.

Caractéristiques et avantages

  • The content of IGF-1 is determined using quantitative amino acid analysis (AAA) and HPLC/UV/MS.
  • No adjustments required before using this standard.
  • It has been prepared and certified in accordance with the ISO 17034, ISO/IEC 17025, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • All raw materials used in the product have undergone comprehensive identification and characterization processes utilizing various analytical techniques.
  • Long-term stability has been evaluated for storage in freezer conditions (-10 °C to -25 °C).

Notes préparatoires

  • Prior to use, thaw the product either in the refrigerator or at room temperature, and ensure thorough mixing.
  • Do not attempt to refreeze the product once thawed.
  • Thawed product can be stored in a refrigerated environment for up to 8 weeks.
  • When using the product, it is recommended that users quantitatively transfer the desired volume, following established good laboratory practices. This can be done either to spike it into a matrix or to dilute it to the desired concentration.

Autres remarques

This product′s purpose is for testing. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT INTENDED FOR HUMAN OR THERAPEUTIC USE. Refer to the safety data sheet for specific details regarding any possible hazards and necessary precautions.
