MAX phases belong to ternary carbides and nitrides with layered hexagonal crystal structure, and are used as precursors for MXenes . Two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal carbides, carbonitrides and nitrides, known as MXenes, have attracted significant attention due to their outstanding electronic, ionic, optical, mechanical, and thermal properties, as well as plasmonic behaviour and versatile/tunable surface chemistries . We offer MAX phase Ti3AlC2 powder with a high assay purity (99.8%), making it ideal for the fresh synthesis of the popular Ti3C2 MXene.

Application

MAX phase Ti3AlC2 powder was reported in the synthesis of Ti3C2 MXene for various applications, such as (but not limited to):
- Energy conversion (eg: solar cells, photocatalytic fuel production, such as hydrogen evolution from water splitting, and carbon dioxide reduction) and storage (eg: rechargeable Li-ion and beyond batteries, supercapacitors) systems ;
- Photocatalytic applications ;
- Bio-related applications (eg: drug delivery, neuroelectronic devices, photothermal therapy of cancer, biosensors, and tissue engineering) .
