Biochem/physiol Actions

ML291 specifically activates the apoptotic arm of the cellular unfolded protein response ( UPR) EC50 = 762 nM) with 105-fold selectivity over activation of the adaptive UPR pathway. ML291 induces apoptosis in wild-type mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs), but not in CHOP KO MEFs.
