The MAK132 assay kit is designed for testing sulfates, not sulfites, which are more commonly associated with wine. There is no available data on this kit being previously tested with wines. If the wine sample is diluted and/or the color is reduced through treatment with carbon or polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVPP) and the sample sulfate levels are within the detection range of 0.02 mM (0.19 mg/dL) to 2 mM (19.2 mg/dL) in a 96-well plate assay, then it might work for testing wine instead of plasma.
