Gene Information

human ... DVL1(1855)

General description

DVL1, the human homolog of the Drosophila dishevelled gene (dsh) encodes a cytoplasmic phosphoprotein that regulates cell proliferation. The protein acts as a transducer molecule for developmental processes, including segmentation and neuroblast specification. DVL1 mutation is likely responsible for transformation in neuroblastomas, and the Schwartz-Jampel syndrome and Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A have been mapped to the same region as DVL1 gene, thus DVL1 maybe important in these diseases as well.

Specificity

Dishevelled-1 protein (dvl-1). By Western blot the antibody shows no cross reactivity with recombinant dishevelled -2 or dishevelled -3 protein Pre-adsorption of the antibody with the immunogen peptide completely abolishes its reactivity by Western blot against dishevelled -1 protein.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 557-571 of human dishevelled-1 protein.

Application

Anti-Dishevelled-1 Antibody is an antibody against Dishevelled-1 for use in WB.

Western blot: 1:500 using ECL. The antibody reacts with a protein of ~85kDa. Dilute antibody in 50 mM PBS, pH 7.4 containing 1.5% sodium chloride and 1% normal animal serum (same species as the host of the secondary antibody).

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

The Rho-GTPase Rac1 promotes actin polymerization and membrane protrusion that mediate initial contact and subsequent maturation of cell-cell junctions. Here we report that Rac1 associates with the ubiquitin-protein ligase neural precursor cell expressed developmentally down-regulated 4 (Nedd4). This interaction requires
