General description

Cyclin B1 belongs to the cyclin family. It is a 48.337 kDa protein. It is present in low levels in testis, thymus, bone marrow and smooth muscle. It is mapped to human chromosome 5q13.2.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cyclin B1-CDK1 (cyclin-dependent kinase 1) helps to induce chromosome condensation, nuclear lamina resolution and mitotic spindle assembly. It also acts as a potential target for a cancer vaccine.
