General description

Binds human IgE; does not bind human IgG, IgA or IgM.
IgEs are glycoprotein antibodies that regulate immunological responses to allergies and infections. These immunoglobulins have been implicated in mediating Type I hypersensitivity reactions. Elevated IgE levels have been associated with hyper IgE syndrome and allergic asthma.
Monoclonal Anti-Human IgE (mouse IgG2b isotype) is derived from the GE-1 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from an immunized mouse.

Application

Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Western Blotting (1 paper)
Mouse monoclonal anti-human IgE-alkaline phosphatase antibody has been used for :
  • immunoblot assays
  • direct ELISA
  • dot blot
To confirm that a chimaeric monoclonal antibody had episolon chain, an elisa was performed using monoclonal anti-human IgE antibody (clone GE1) at a 1:1000 dilution.
