Tryptic Soy Broth is a nutrient-rich universal medium free of inhibitors and targets to enumerate a broad spectrum of bacteria, yeast, and molds. The medium is supplemented with peptones from casein and soymeal to provide an enhanced carbon source that promotes growth for the microflora. The broth medium is widely used during sterility testing due to its wide range of specificity. Tween® 80 in the media formulation inhibits active agents of disinfectants and promotes microbial growth present in the test sample.
Application
Tryptic Soy Broth with 0.5% Tween® 80 is used for the cultivation and enumeration of a broad range of bacteria, yeasts, and fungi in the presence of disinfectant residue. The medium is suitable for the testing of sterile and non-sterile substances, preparations, and products.
