General description

(2-Ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol polymer with (chloromethyl)oxirane has a trifunctional aliphatic glycidyl ether epoxide monomer mainly used as a crosslinking agent which provides chemical and mechanical resistance.[1][2]

Application

(2-Ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol polymer with (chloromethyl)oxirane is used in the synthesis of azidated trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether for the preparation of polyether polyol based hyperbranched polyurethanes.[3] It can be coated on polycarbonated chips for improving chemical resistance from different organic solvents.[4] Cross-linking of (2-Ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol polymer with (chloromethyl)oxirane can be done with poly(4-venylphenol) (PVP) for the preparation of organic field effect transistors (OFETs).[5][6]
Additive in fast-setting adhesives, low temperature curing coatings and hard, abrasion resistant castings and decoupage systems.

Features and Benefits

Reduces viscosity but retains high epoxide level, imparts hardness and toughness to epoxide polymers. Improves solubility/compatibility characteristics of highly aromatic epoxy systems.

  1. 이 제품과 Trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether의 cas no가 동일한데 Trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether와 뭐가 다른 건가요? Trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether를 실험에 사용하고 싶은데 이 시약을 그냥 사용하면 될까요? 아니면 사용 전 별도의 과정이 필요할까요?

    1. This product is a polymer made using (2-Ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol) and (chloromethyl)oxirane as precursors. It has a different CAS number compared to trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether, which has the CAS# 3454-29-3. It is advisable to test the content of trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether in this product and purify it if necessary before further use, or use the specific reagent with the correct CAS number.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.     1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.
