Descripción

General description

α-Solanine is a steroidal glycoalkaloid mainly found in potatoes.[1] It is a potential anti-carcinogenic agent against pancreatic cancer cells.[2]

Application

α-Solanine has been used as a standard during its quantification in potatoes by HPLC.[3]

Other Notes

A trisaccharide, consisting of glucose, galactose and rhamnose, linked to solanidine.
