General description

Estrogen-related receptor alpha is a nuclear receptor protein related to the Estrogen receptor. It is reported to interact with estrogen and similar steroids and functions as a transcriptional activator.
This protein is a nuclear receptor that is closely related to the estrogen receptor. This protein acts as a site specific transcription regulator and has been also shown to interact with estrogen and the transcripton factor TFIIB by direct protein-protein contact. The binding and regulatory activities of this protein have been demonstrated in the regulation of a variety of genes including lactoferrin, osteopontin, medium chain acyl coenzyme A dehydrogenase (MCAD) and thyroid hormone receptor genes. In mouse, ERR alpha is expressed in many adult and embryonic tissues (particularly at the onset of ossification) as well as in several osteoblast cell lines. ERR alpha expression has been documented in mouse in brain, spinal cord, pituitary gland and heart.

Specificity

Recognizes Estrogen-related Receptor α.

Immunogen

Ovalbumin-conjugated, synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 339-364 of human Estrogen Receptor-Related α

Application
