Gene Information

human ... Id2(3398)

General description

Id2 (inhibitor of DNA binding 2) belongs to the HLH (helix–loop–helix) family. It is located on human chromosome 2p25.
The antibody detects endogenous level of total Id2 protein.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around aa. 5-9 (S-P-V-R-S), according to the protein NP_002157.2

Biochem/physiol Actions

Id2 (inhibitor of DNA binding 2) knockdown decreases the upregulation of N-cadherin, vimentin and Snail and promotes the expression of E-cadherin. It has the ability to interact with Rb protein and block its antiproliferative activity. It can prevent the separation of cells, stimulate multiplication of cell and help in reprogramming of Hodgkin lymphoma cells, the oncogenic AP-1 transcription factor FRA2 (fos-related antigen 2) and the oncogenic tyrosine kinase CSF-1 receptor.

Features and Benefits

Evaluate our antibodies with complete peace of mind. If the antibody does not perform in your application, we will issue a full credit or replacement antibody. Learn more.

Target description

ID (inhibitor of DNA binding) HLH proteins lack a basic DNA-binding domain but are able to form heterodimers with other HLH proteins, thereby inhibiting DNA binding. ID-2 may be an inhibitor of tissue-specific gene expression.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
