General description

Ginkgolide B is a diterpenoid compound belonging to the group of ginkgolides, isolated from Ginkgo biloba leaves, exhibiting a wide spectrum of pharmacological properties and is used for the treatment of Alzheimer′s disease, cerebral insufficiency and memory loss.

Application

Ginkgolide B may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in phytopharmaceutical formulations and Ginkgo biloba L. extract using different chromatography techniques.
