Descripción general

Cell cycle checkpoint protein RAD17 is mapped to human chromosome 5q13.2 . It is also called s a replication factor C (RFC)-like DNA damage sensor protein. Eight alternative spliced transcript variants of the gene, which encode four distinct proteins, have been reported.

Inmunógeno

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 2-15 of human RAD17 (isoform 1), conjugated to KLH via a C-terminal added cysteine residue. The immunizing peptide differs from that of isoform 2 by two amino acids.

Aplicación

Anti-RAD17 (N-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation.

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

RAD17 has been reported in breast, non-small cell lung carcinoma and breast cancer. RAD17 is a critical event during checkpoint signaling in DNA-damaged cells. Treatment of human cells with genotoxic agents induced ATM/ATR dependent phosphorylation of RAD17 at Ser635 and Ser645 , suggesting that phosphorylation of RAD17 is a critical event during checkpoint signaling in DNA-damaged cells.

Forma física

Supplied as a solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
