Caspase-12 (CASP12) is an immunomodulatory factor, that is present in the cytoplasmic side of the ER (endoplasmic reticulum). It is upregulated highly in muscle, liver and kidney.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids within the small cleavage product of murine caspase-12.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Caspase-12 (CASP12) plays an important role in endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-related apoptosis. It moderates hepatocyte apoptosis prompted by carbon tetrachloride. Lack of caspase-12 (CASP12) increases cytokine responses.
Linkage
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3197.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide
