Descripción

General description

IgG (Immunoglobulin G) are the most common Immunoglobulin′s isotype in blood, lymph, cerebrospinal and peritoneal fluids and serve as key players in the humoral immune response. IgG include four subclasses (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4), consist of a variable Fab fragment (which includes the antibody recognition site) and a conserved Fc fragment.[1]

Application

IgG3, λ from murine myeloma is suitable as isotype control in immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections[2] and in FACS.[3]

IgG3, Lambda from murine myeloma antibody has been used in Fluorescent activated cell sorting (FACS).

Biochem/physiol Actions

IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant of serum immunoglobulins of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to fetus through the placenta that is vital for immune defense of the neonate against infections.[4]
