Microseminoprotein-β (MSMB) encodes a 94 amino acid (PSP94) protein. It is secreted by the prostate. MSMB is located on human chromosome 10q11.2.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Microseminoprotein-β (MSMB) provides chemoresistance and its peptide derivative PCK3145 helps to suppress the tumor growth in ovarian cancer. It plays a major role in the progression of drug resistance in vitro. Overexpression of MSMB can stimulate PC (prostate cancer) cell apoptosis and suppress prostate cancer growth, invasion and metastasis.
