Application

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. Biochem/physiol Actions

VAV2 (vav 2 guanine nucleotide exchange factor) gene encodes a protein belonging to the DbI family of proteins. It functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Cdc42, Rac1, RhoA, RhoB, and RhoG that are members of Rho family of proteins. These Rho proteins function in the regulation of actin cytoskeletal organization, thus affecting cell shape, adhesion, and motility. Vav2 can be activated by N-terminal truncation and contains a protein-protein or protein-lipid interaction motif at the C-terminal similar to another protein Vav, again a member of DbI family of proteins. It also serves as a substrate for epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor.
