Gene Information

human ... DBP(1628)

General description

Albumin promoter (albumin D-box) D-site binding protein (DBP), a PAR basic region leucine zipper (bZIP) protein, is a transcription factor involved in the diurnal regulation of gene transcription in the brain, liver and kidney. It regulates the expression of proteins such as cholesterol 7 α-hydroxylase P450 gene (CYP7) and kisspeptins (Kiss1).
DBP is known to control the growth of liver cells.
Rabbit polyclonal anti-DBP reacts with bovine, canine, human, mouse, and rat D-site of albumin promoter (albumin D-box) binding proteins.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human DBP

Application

Rabbit Anti-DBP can be used for western blot applications at a concentration of 0.5-5.0μg/ml. It can also be used for immunohistochemistry at 4-8μg/ml, using paraffin-embedded tissues.
Rabbit polyclonal anti-DBP is used to tag D site of albumin promoter (albumin D-box) binding protein for detection and quantitation by immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the presence and roles of D site of albumin promoter (albumin D-box) binding protein in diurnal regulation of gene expression.

Biochem/physiol Actions

D-site-binding protein (DBP) is a member of the PAR bZIP (proline and acidic amino acid-rich basic leucine zipper) transcription factor family.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: PKEPASCLLKEKERKAALPAATTPGPGLETAGPADAPAGAVVGGGSPRGR

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
