General description

Anti-IgD antibody reacts with surface immunoglobulin IgD delta chains. This antibody is useful when identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and B-cell lineage derived lymphomas (in particular Marginal Zone Lymphoma). Cytoplasmic staining is easily identified on paraffin tissue. Surface immunoglobulin is difficult to demonstrate on paraffin sections but can be demonstrated on frozen sections.

Splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL) has recently been proposed as a distinctive type of low-grade B-cell lymphoma. Although there is general agreement that this entity exists, its precise definition is blurred by uncertainty in differential diagnosis from other low-grade B-cell

Expression of IgD was studied immunopathologically on 50 cases of B cell lymphomas (B MLs), together with various B cell markers including IgM, kappa and lambda chains, B1, B2, (OK)B2, (OB)B7, (OK)T10, NUB1, Leu 1, Leu 14, and PCA. IgD

We report a case of mantle cell lymphoma masquerading as a marginal zone cell lymphoma. In the initial manifestation in the palatine tonsils, the neoplastic cells were found to grow exclusively within the marginal zones of secondary follicles which showed

The existence of primary nodal marginal zone lymphomas (MZL) is controversial, as is their relationship to putative extranodal counterparts. Most nodal lymphomas with monocytoid B cell/marginal zone differentiation exhibit the morphologic and immunophenotypical characteristics of extranodal MALT-lymphomas. Splenic marginal zone

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) typically involves nodal or extranodal tissues as a diffuse proliferation with pseudofollicular growth centers obliterating normal architecture. We describe 16 cases of CLL/SLL in which the neoplasm was confined to the marginal zone, perifollicular
