6-Acetyl-1,1,2,4,4,7-hexamethyltetralin (musk tonalide) is a polycyclic musk which belongs to the class of tetralin compounds. It is widely used as a fragrance ingredient in consumer products, mainly soaps, detergents, cosmetics, and cleaning agents.

Application

6-Acetyl-1,1,2,4,4,7-hexamethyltetralin may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in water samples, fish and perfumes by chromatography-based techniques.
