Descripción general

Anti-cytokine antibodies occur frequently and are present in healthy individuals and patients with acquired immunodeficiency and autoimmune diseases. Cytokines offering protection against microbes can be targeted by cytokine autoantibodies, leading to life-threatening infections. Some infections associated with anti-cytokine antibodies include M. tuberculosis, Salmonella, S. aureus. E. coli, Histoplasma, and more. The presence of cytokine autoantibodies in autoimmune disease can influence disease severity and activity. These autoimmune diseases may include systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Measuring cytokine autoantibodies may be useful for disease monitoring and efficacy of treatment.The MILLIPLEX® Human Cytokine Autoantibody Expanded IgG Magnetic Bead Panel is a 23-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous detection of any or all of the listed analytes in serum and plasma samples.

Aplicación

The MILLIPLEX® Human Cytokine Autoantibody Expanded IgG Panel is a bead-based qualitative assay based on the Luminex® xMAP® technology, which enables the simultaneous analysis of cytokine autoantibodies in human serum and plasma samples.

  2. Does the IgG-PE detection conjugate detect all isoforms of IgG?

    1. The mean proportions of IgG subclasses in normal adult serum are as follows: IgG1: 60%, IgG2: 32%, IgG3: 4%, and IgG4: 4%. The conjugate has been tested directly with IgG1, IgG3, and IgG4 and was reactive with all three, indicating a high likelihood of reactivity with IgG2 as well. The antibody (polyclonal) was purified from human IgG Fc from human serum, making it likely to be reactive with all four isotypes.
