Descripción general

1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-ethylphosphocholine (18:1 EPC) is a cationic alkylated phospholipid.[1]

Aplicación

1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-ethylphosphocholine (chloride salt) (18:1 EPC (Cl Salt)) is suitable:
  • for composing lipid shell to prepare lipopolyplex/mRNA vaccine[2]
  • in solvent-assisted preparation of supported lipid bilayers[3]
  • along with 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylethanolamine (DOPE) in mixed liposomes as colloidal vectors for physicochemical study of the DNA compaction[1]
  • to formulate the lipid nanoparticle (LNP1) to enhance intracellular delivery mediated by shock waves[4]

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-ethylphosphocholine (18:1 EPC) serves as a transfection reagent. 18:1 EPC is applicable in liposomes and lipoplexes. It is a potential vector in gene therapy.[1]
