Phosphatidic acid (PA) is a simple anionic membrane phospholipid.[1] The amphipathic phospholipid contains a polar head group and two long hydrophobic acyl chains.[2] NBD PA is a fluorescent probe containing 7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl (NBD) linked to the sn-2 fatty acid of PA.[3]

Aplicación

18:1-12:0 NBD PA or 1-oleoyl-2-{12-[(7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)amino]dodecanoyl}-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (ammonium salt) has been used in donor liposomes for phosphatidic acid (PA) transfer activity assay.[4] It might be used:in the preparation of PA small unilamellar vesicles (SUVs) to determine mammalian target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) lysosomal translocation.[5] It may be used in NBD-PA and NBD phosphatidyl choline uptake assays[6] and to measure lipid transfer specificity of Ups1 mutants[7]

Phosphatidic acid (PA) is crucial for intracellular signaling involved in various cellular processes, including membrane trafficking and sperm hyper-activation.[1] PA reacts with water and other phospholipids to produce lipid bilayers and multicomponent bilayers, respectively.[2]
