Selecting a GC Column for Specific Methods

Accurate. Precise. Consistent. GC Capillary Columns by Method.

We know that only the most accurate analytical products will do.

That’s why we offer the Supelco portfolio of analytical GC columns, providing you the accuracy, precision and consistency you need.

To assist you in locating the proper phase, we have organized GC columns routinely used in various methods. Simply follow the link that matches the method reference.

GC Columns for ASTM Methods

American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods cover testing of a wide range of products. ASTM methods and recommended Supelco capillary GC columns are:

GC Columns for GPA Methods

Gas Processors Association (GPA) methods typically cover the testing of natural gas and natural gas liquids. GPA methods and recommended Supelco capillary GC columns are:

  • 2186: Equity®-1
  • 2286: Equity®-1

GC Columns for JMHLW Methods

In May of 2006, the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (JMHLW) introduced regulations for the levels of agricultural chemical residues allowed in plant-based and animal-based foods. This 'positive list' includes pesticides, feed additives, and veterinary drugs. The goal of this regulation is to prevent the distribution of foodstuffs containing these residues at levels above specific limits. Analysis involves either LC-MS or GC-MS. The recommended Supelco capillary GC column is:

  • SLB®-5ms

GC Columns for USP Methods

U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) methods typically cover pharmaceutical products. USP codes and recommended Supelco capillary GC columns are:

GC Columns for AOAC Methods

Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) methods cover testing of a wide range of products.

GC Columns for EN Methods

European Standard (EN) methods cover testing of a wide range of products.

GC Columns for OSHA Methods

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) methods typically cover indoor air quality in the workplace.

GC Columns for NIOSH Methods

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) methods cover testing related to workplace air quality.

  • 1003: VOCOL®
  • 1403,1500/1501, 2542: Equity®-1
  • 2530, 5503: SLB®-5ms

GC Columns for Standard Methods

Standard Methods methods typically cover testing of environmental samples.

  • 6040D: SLB®-5ms

GC Columns for EPA Methods
