This kit would be suitable for plant samples assuming that the concentration of a-Ketoglutarate present in the tissue lysate is sufficient to enable detection. This α-Ketoglutarate Assay Kit is suitable for the measurement of a-Ketoglutarate in biological samples including cell and tissue lysates. The minimum amount of a-Ketoglutarate used to set up the standard curve is 2 nmole per well. See the link below to review the protocol:
