- As a solvent in the study of absorption of ammonia.[1]
- As a polymerization initiator, which is known to accelerate the cure of cyanate ester resins.[2]
- In the thermodynamic study of the solubility of D-sorbitol, xylitol, and meso-erythritol in ionic liquids.[3]
- As a corrosion inhibitor of API 5L X52 steel in acidic conditions.[4]
