General description

Cytotoxic concentration: 10,000 IU/ml penicillin, 20 mg/ml streptomycin
Penicillin (Penicillin G) inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting peptidoglycan synthesis. Streptomycin belongs to the family of aminoglycoside antibiotics, and inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting protein synthesis. Penicillin-Streptomycin is used for the prevention and elimination of bacterial contaminants in cell culture.
