General description

Anti-CD4 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CD4 protein.
CD4 (CD4 molecule) is present in the surface of specific leukocytes. CD4 contains four ecto-domains (D1-D4) of which D1, D2, and D4 contain disulfide bonds. It is mapped to human chromosome 12p13.31.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CD4.

Immunogen Range: 401-450

Application

Anti-CD4, C-Terminal antibody has been used in immunohistochemical staining.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CD4 (CD4 molecule) helps in the activation of immunostimulatory T-cells. It serve as a primary receptor for HIV-1 entry. This molecule plays an important role on cell membrane mechanical characteristics and can be used in the development of cell biology and medicine.
