General description

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are transmembrane receptors expressed on the surface of immune and non-immune cells. There are at least 13 different TLRs identified that mediate signalling pathways contributing to acute inflammatory processes during tissue damage and bacterial infections TLR2 is highly inducible by numerous inflammatory mediators resulting in translocation of transcription factor NF-κB-mediated proinflammatory cytokines and immune responses

Immunogen

a peptide corresponding to 15 amino acids near the amino-terminus of human TLR4.

Linkage

The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3141.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide

Although the role of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) in bacterial infection and sepsis is well characterized, recent studies have also shown that TLR4 and TLR2 can play an important role in contributing to acute inflammatory processes and organ dysfunction in settings

TLRs are critical for innate immunity, but excessive activation can lead to tissue damage and disease. Specialized proresolving mediators (SPMs), including resolvin D2 (RvD2), promote the active resolution of inflammation. How SPMs regulate early LPS signaling, including activation of TLR4
