Theprocedure uses GelMelt<TMSYMBOL></TMSYMBOL> Solution to dissolvethe gel slice, followed by adsorption of theDNA to a silica membrane in a spin columnformat. After a wash step, the purified DNAis eluted in low-salt buffer. Each spin columncan bind up to 20 g DNA. Recoveries are consistently in the range of 50-90% understandard conditions.
