General description

Tricalcium phosphate or tribasic calcium phosphate is a calcium salt of phosphoric acid with the formula Ca3(PO4)2. This material is a white powder consisting of particles with a size from 2-6 microns and a high surface area exceeding 80 m2/g.

Application

Hydroxyapatite and tricalcium phosphate are bioactive ceramic materials and they find applications as bone grafts, fillers and coating material for metal implants.
