General description

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. An immunoglobulin has two heavy chain and two light chains connected by disulfide bond. It is a glycoprotein. IgG is a major class of immunoglobulin.

Specificity

This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Monkey IgG coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against Anti-Biotin, Anti-Goat Serum, Monkey IgG and Monkey Serum. No reaction was observed against Monkey IgA or Monkey IgM.

Immunogen

Monkey IgG gamma heavy chain

Biochem/physiol Actions

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) mainly helps in immune defense. It participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III. Macaques (rhesus monkeys) and cynomolgus monkeys (cynos) serves as hosts in synthesizing vaccine, transplantation research, studies of viral diseases, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetic and safety assessments of therapeutic candidate Abs (antibodies).
