General description

The Mouse Leptin ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse Leptin in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.

Immunogen

Recombinant Mouse Leptin

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Mouse Leptin ELISA Kit has been used to measure plasma leptin concentration.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
Mouse Leptin ELISA kit has been used to measure serum leptin concentration in adipose tissues of mice.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Leptin is a hormone secreted by adipocytes. It is majorly involved in regulation of food intake and energy balance. Variation in the leptin promoter alters serum leptin and HDLC concentration, which might lead to development of obesity. Increased concentration of serum leptin causes arterial stiffness in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients.

Zinc (Zn) requirements are increased during lactation. Increased demand is partially met through increased Zn absorption from the diet. It is estimated that 60-80% of women of reproductive age are at risk for Zn deficiency due to low intake of
