HHEX is a homeobox protein that is involved in developmental functions. HHEX variations have been identified as risk factors for diabetes type 2 in Japanese population groups. Rabbit Anti-HHEX antibody recognizes pig, human, canine, bovine, mouse, and rat HHEX.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human HHEX
Application
Rabbit Anti-HHEX antibody is suitable for use in western blot (0.5μg/ml) and immunohistochemistry (4-8μg/ml) applications.
Biochem/physiol Actions
HHEX encodes a member of the homeobox family of transcription factors, many of which are involved in developmental processes. Expression in specific hematopoietic lineages suggests that this protein may play a role in hematopoietic differentiation.
Sequence
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: KQENPQSNKKEELESLDSSCDQRQDLPSEQNKGASLDSSQCSPSPASQED
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Recently, several groups have carried out whole-genome association studies in European and European-origin populations and found novel type 2 diabetes-susceptibility genes, fat mass and obesity associated (FTO), solute carrier family 30 (zinc transporter), member 8 (SLC30A8), haematopoietically expressed homeobox (HHEX)
