General description

ARF6 is a member of the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family. It is specifically involved in endocytosis of plasma membrane proteins.
Anti-ARF6 antibody, Mouse monoclonal (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma ARFAG produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (NS1 cells) and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide. class III includes only human Arf6. The ADP-ribosylation factors (Arf) family of proteins, which belong to the Ras (rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog) family, are low molecular weight proteins capable of binding GTP.

Application

Anti-ARF6 antibody, Mouse monoclonal has been used in:
  • western blotting
  • enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • immunocytochemistry

Mouse Monoclonal Anti-ARF6 antibody can be used for western blot assays at 1-2μg/ml using MDCK cell extracts. The antibody can also be used for ELISA and immunocytochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (Arf6) is present at the plasma membrane and on endosomal membranes where it regulates the flow of trafficking into and out of the cell, and regulates the actin cytoskeleton on the plasma membrane. ARF6 activates phospholipase D (PLD) and phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase (PIP5K) to generate phosphatidic acid and PIP2 (phosphotidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate), respectively.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
